I thought bans on things like musical groups haven't existed since the 60s, but apparently there's been a ban on The Beatles in Israel since 1965 because of the Israeli government's worries about them "corrupting" the youth. The Israeli government is officially apologizing for the whole manner and is now inviting Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr to visit during their 60th anniversary celebrations.

700MHz Auction Starts Today, Get Your Game Face On...
The almighty 700MHz auction begins today. For those of you completely out of the loop, TV stations are being forced to shut off their analog broadcasts and switching over to just broadcasting digital signals. When this happens, the 700MHz spectrum will clear out, so the FCC is bidding it out to be used for wireless broadband. Some of the big players hoping to get their hands on the spectrum are Google, Verizon, and Cox Communications. The 700MHz spectrum is essentially the most valuable spectrum that will be available for years. For those of you who want to keep up with it, choose Auction 73 on this page.
While Google is one of the big players, many are speculating that they're not really in it to win it, as they already got what they wanted when the FCC announced that the spectrum must be open, meaning devices supporting the future-Google Android platform will work on it. However, CEO Eric Schmidt has announced that they mean business, so we'll see.
Here's hoping Google wins on their continuing quest to take over the world!
If only this was televised and covered like the NFL Draft.

Ringo Walks Out Of Regis And Kelly, Song Performance Was Cut Too Much...
Ringo Starr was scheduled to perform on the Regis and Kelly show to promote his new Liverpool 8 album. After having his performance scheduled for months, the musical director insisted that Ringo cut his song short, which led to Ringo deciding to walk off the set. They asked for the song to be cut to 2 and a half minutes, or less. Ringo wasn't willing to cut his song that much, so he left the set saying "God bless and goodbye. We still love Regis."
How fucken thick do you have to be to cut a Beatle's performance, especially after months of planning? I give kudos to Ringo for standing up for himself and not taking any shit. You're a Beatle, sir. They're lucky you didn't demand they pleasure your manhood.
So to Regis and Kelly, and their abortion-of-a-musical-director who I can only assume is the offspring of a retarded donkey and Courtney Love, go fuck yourselves and die.
Rock on, Ringo.

Ringo Starr Releases New Album, Even Hardcore Beatles Fans Are Unaware Of It...
Now, I had originally heard Ringo's Liverpool 8 album a few days ago, but for some reason I just figured it was another compilation and shrugged it off.
Apparently, Liverpool 8 is Ringo's latest album. It could be because I don't follow the video blogs on his website anymore, but I find it ironic that after returning to a major label after 30 years of being on small and independent labels, I knew less of this album coming out than I did of 2005's Choose Love album, which I knew about months in advance.
According to Stephen Thomas Erlewinde of allmusic, Liverpool 8 isn't as good as Choose Love, but I have been known to curse his mother quite a few times.
Anyway, I'm ordering the CD and hope to have it some time next week for a full review.

FCC To Re-test Using "White Space"...
After initial prototypes fell flat on their face, it seems like the White Space Coalition has new prototypes to test being able to use the "white spaces" in television broadcast spectrum for wireless broadband uses.
The new prototypes, submitted by Microsoft, Adaptrum, Motorola, and Philips, will be tested in labs for several weeks, and then tested in the field.

Radiohead Coming To Miami...
Yeah, I know I'm late on posting about this, but Radiohead is apparently coming to Miami. There's no word yet on a venue or date, but so far it is promised that they'll be visiting the magic city.
